What is Sodium Molybdate?

Sodium molybdate, Na2MoO4, is useful as a source of molybdenum.This white, crystalline salt is often found as the dihydrate, Na2MoO4·2H2O.

The molybdate(VI) anion is tetrahedral. Two sodium cations coordinate with every one anion.Sodium molybdate was first synthesized by the method of hydration.[4] A more convenient synthesis is done by dissolving MoO3 in sodium hydroxide at 50–70 °C and crystallizing the filtered product.[3] The anhydrous salt is prepared by heating to 100 °C.

The application of sodium molybdate in improving the feed conversion rate of housefly larvae. The total amount of sodium molybdate and housefly larvae feed is 100% by mass. Sodium molybdate is 0.0001% to 0.8% and housefly larvae feed is 99.2 %～99.9999%.

This product adds sodium molybdate to the commonly used housefly larvae feed, which can significantly increase the yield of fly larvae and the utilization rate of feed. The output of fly larvae of the feed added with sodium molybdate of the present invention is 1.06～ that of common feed without sodium molybdate added. 2.15 times, the conversion rate of wheat bran is 1.07 to 2.16 times that of common feed, which has achieved the purpose of increasing production and income, so it can be used in artificial breeding and even industrial production.
