What is Gardenia Extract?

A natural pigment obtained from plants, gardenia extract offers a lovely pallet of varying hues ranging from deep orange to golden yellow colour (depending on the other ingredients it’s blended with).

The gardenia is popular as a garden plant and is known for its beautiful white flowers and exotic scent. An evergreen shrub, it is thought to have originated in China and Japan, but can also be found in the tropical and subtropical regions of Africa and Australasia.

It can reduce the free acidity and total acidity in gastric juice, and effectively reduce the activity of pepsin in gastric juice.

5) Antihypertensive and lipid-lowering effects

Gardenia extract decoction and alcohol extract have antihypertensive effects, and intravenous administration of blood pressure lowers rapidly and lasts for a short time. The current research results show that the antihypertensive effect of Gardenia is in the center, mainly due to the enhancement of the excitability of the oblongata parasympathetic center.
